Witham to launch new Film Group
Are you interested in thought provoking, classic, independent, Art house and world cinema? If so you may like to know about the new Film Group to be launched at the Witham. The group plan to meet one Thursday evening per month, initially from September to December 2011.
The screenings will provide an alternative to big screen blockbusters with films such as “Historias Minimas” a simple but enchanting Argentinean film about the lives of three very different people that wish only one thing: to reach San Julian, or “Inside Job” the Oscar winning documentary that takes a closer look at what brought about the financial meltdown. For those interested, there will be an opportunity for discussion after each film where suggestions for further films to continue the season will be welcomed.
We need to secure a reasonable number of advance sales to make the programme viable. A pre-paid discounted pass for £20 will be available to cover the first four films. This is a saving of £6.00 on the door admission of £6.50 per film.
To launch the film group we are planning a free screening in July. For more information or to register interest please contact us on 01833 631107, email via our website at www.withamcinema.com, visit our Witham Cinema Facebook page and “like” it, call at the Witham Box Office open between 10.00 and 3.30 every day except Thursday or contact Annalisa Ward on 07928 901621. Alternatively you can send a stamped self-addressed envelope to The Film Club at The Witham, 3 Horsemarket, Barnard Castle to receive details and tickets for the free screening,
